Dr. Sushant Garud

Dr. Sushant Garud is a passionate researcher, engineer, and entrepreneur who has a unique mix of skillsets in process engineering, industrial digitalization, and energy transition. He has been leading Hydrogen economy and decarbonization related projects at NUS. Through his work at Aleph Technologies, he’s been helping process and chemical industries become more energy-efficient and sustainable using their software solutions.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Garud served as a Senior Consultant at Aspen Tech, where he led several digital transformation projects for multinational companies in the Asia-Pacific-Japan region, covering pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and mining. During his doctoral and post-doctoral research, Dr. Garud collaborated with industry leaders such as Pfizer, ExxonMobil, and SLNG to develop cutting-edge digital twinning, process modelling, and operational optimization solutions. As a result of his extensive research and industrial experiences, Dr. Garud has honed his expertise in machine learning, cognitive digital twins, operational optimization, as well as process modelling and simulation.
